AHEC e RIVA 1920, hanno collaborato per dar vita alla prima edizione del Design Award “A seat at the table” che darà visibilità a quattro talenti emergenti del design italiano che vedranno prodotto un prototipo del loro progetto e avranno accesso a una piattaforma internazionale per esibire il loro lavoro e le loro idee. Il Design Award in particolare premierà quattro progetti di tavoli in legno massello realizzati utilizzando una delle tre specie sostenibili di legno di latifoglia americana a scelta tra quercia rossa, ciliegio, acero tenero e duro americani. Queste specie rappresentano il 40% della risorsa di legno di latifoglia americana che si rigenera naturalmente, e nonostante le loro sorprendenti prestazioni e qualità estetiche e ambientali, sono attualmente sottoutilizzate in Europa.
Il termine di iscrizione scade il 30 GENNAIO 2022.

DESIGN CONTEST FOR ITALIAN-BASED EMERGING DESIGNERS
AHEC and renowned Italian furniture makers RIVA 1920 have teamed up to create the first edition of the Design Award “A seat at the table”, which aims to discover emerging design talent from Italy and give a selection of four designers a voice and a platform to exhibit their work and ideas, along with the opportunity to see a prototype of their project produced.
The project will award four table designs in solid wood, using one of a choice of three sustainable American hardwood species: American red oak, cherry, and maple. These species make up 40% of the naturally regenerating American hardwood resource, and despite having amazing performance, aesthetic, and environmental qualities, are currently being underused in Europe. Submission deadline is 30th January 2022
